Club History
The Kiwanis Club of North Olmsted was
chartered July 24, 1930 with Dr. C. C. Roswurm as President.
He also stayed on as President for the 1931 year, the only
President to serve two consecutive years in our 77 year history.
North Olmsted Kiwanis has always been an active club. It
took on all kinds of projects such as, installing flood light at
the pond in North Olmsted Park for the ice skaters, spearheading
the drive to get Lorain Road paved in 1940, initiating Boys and
Girls Races (1937) which became part of what we now call
'Homecoming', installing a scoreboard at the High School, etc,
etc.
The Kiwanis Scholarship Foundation was formed in 1984 and will
be awarding five $1,500 scholarships this year.
Some of the current activities of our club include: Meals on
Wheels, Easter Egg Hunt, Make A Wish Foundation, Boy Scouts,
Homecoming, Kiwanis Park, Thanksgiving at the Party Center, Hugh
O'Brien Leadership Conference, and many many more.
